Overview
A fashion brand was producing strong video content that drove traffic — but website drop-off was high and there was no clear path from "watch" to "buy." The content team and growth team were working in silos. We connected them with shoppable video flows and a structured CRO loop.
The Challenge
Video drove significant traffic, but website drop-off was high. Content and growth teams operated independently with no attribution between video performance and purchase behavior. Conversion sat at 2.1% — well below category benchmarks.
The Situation
Cosori's content team was producing some of the strongest kitchen creator content in the air fryer category — recipe walkthroughs, unboxing reviews, and holiday cooking series that consistently drove hundreds of thousands of views per video. But when the growth team looked at attributed revenue, the numbers were disconnected from the view counts. A holiday campaign with 2.1M combined views was converting at sub-2% — not because the content was weak, but because the path from watch to purchase was broken. Viewers who wanted to buy after watching had to navigate back to a search engine, find the product, and hope the intent survived three extra clicks. For a category where Cosori competes on impulse and occasion-driven purchase behavior, that friction was catastrophic. The content team and growth team had no shared attribution framework — content was optimized for views, growth was optimized for paid channel ROAS, and the shoppable video opportunity sat in the gap between them. xark.io was brought in to close that gap for the Q4 holiday window.
Why It Was Hard
The technical challenge was integrating shoppable video at the creator level — each of the 60 creator partners used different platforms (TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels), and TikTok Shop integration required both a native storefront build and creator-side technical onboarding. The strategic challenge was attribution: without connecting video views to purchase completions, neither team could optimize. The existing last-click attribution model credited paid search and discount codes — not the creator content that initiated the purchase intent.
"Closing the watch-to-buy gap turned 2.1M views into $1.8M in attributable GMV — the content was never the problem."
AI Growth Architecture
The Results
Conversion rate grew from 2.1% to 2.8% — a 33% relative lift. Purchase completion improved from 65% to 80%. The attribution dashboard now drives weekly content and CRO decisions across both teams.
Our Approach in Detail
xark.io built the shoppable video stack in three layers. The first was the TikTok Shop storefront: product listing optimization, catalog sync, and creator affiliate link generation for all 60 participating creators. Each creator received UTM-tagged product links, in-video tagging instructions, and caption templates that placed the purchase CTA within the first three seconds of the video description. The second layer was the landing experience — for creators not on TikTok, xark.io built purpose-built "shop the video" landing pages that mirrored the product shown, eliminating the homepage redirect problem. Mobile-first layouts with single-product focus and embedded social proof drove the purchase completion rate from 65% to 80%. The third layer was the attribution dashboard: a unified view connecting TikTok Shop analytics, UTM-tracked clicks, and platform purchase data to give both the content team and growth team a shared weekly performance signal. Creator-level ROAS was calculated weekly, and top performers were automatically offered increased creative fee packages for the next campaign window.
Outcomes
The Q4 holiday campaign delivered $1.8M in attributable GMV with a 28% lift in conversion rate — from 2.1% to 2.8%. Purchase completion improved from 65% to 80% after the landing page redesign. The attribution dashboard revealed that the top 8 creators accounted for 61% of total attributed GMV, enabling Cosori to concentrate their Q1 creator budget with precision rather than distributing it equally. The shoppable video infrastructure is now a permanent channel: the creator program grew from 60 to 140 active partners in the six months following the campaign, with the storefront and attribution tooling in place to scale without additional build cost.
